★☆☆ Beginner 5-10 min January 11, 2025

Overview

Workplace email writing often causes hesitation—you need to be professional and appropriate while expressing yourself clearly. Cowork can quickly generate professional email drafts based on the key points you provide, and even adjust the tone based on the recipient.

Use Cases

  • Work progress reports
  • Project communication emails
  • Leave/time-off requests
  • Customer follow-up emails
  • Progress reminder emails
  • Thank you/apology emails
  • Business emails in English

Steps

Step 1: Describe Your Email Needs

Tell Claude what email you need to write:

Help me write an email to the project manager about:
- Completed the user login module this week
- Encountered a technical issue that needs backend support
- Expected to complete the payment feature next week
- Tone: Professional but not overly formal

Step 2: Get the Email Draft

Claude will generate a complete email:

Subject: [Weekly Progress] User Module Complete & Next Week's Plan

Hi Manager Zhang,

Here's this week's progress update:

Completed:
- User login module development and testing
- API documentation update

In Progress:
- Payment feature development (expected completion next week)

Need Assistance:
The login module encountered session sync issues under high concurrency.
Need the backend team to help adjust Redis configuration.
Could we find time tomorrow to look at this together?

Feel free to reach out if you have any questions.

Best regards,
Li Ming

Step 3: Adjust and Optimize

If modifications are needed:

- Make the tone more formal
- Don't include too many technical details
- Add an expected completion timeline

Step 4: Save or Copy

Please save to ~/Desktop/email_draft.txt

Or copy directly to clipboard for use.

Tip: You can have Claude remember your email style preferences, and it will automatically apply them next time.
